Although no local individual was in the hunt for the individual title at the Louisiana Junior Amateur Championship, several golfers representing Byrd High School proved a four-peat could be a possibility next spring.

Byrd’s Marshall Laborde (2 under) led the local contingent with a ninth-place effort after rounds of 75-67-72 at Links on the Bayou in Alexandria.

Charlie Flynn (11th, 1 under), Reed Sikes (15th, 4 over), Rex Bryant III (16th, 5 over) and Mason Barr (31st, 10 over) all showed well. Rising Yellow Jackets senior Philip Barbaree Jr., the event’s 2014 champion, did not participate. He is in South Carolina for this weekend’s Players Amateur.
