PLAYER OF THE GAME

Jackson Dennies, Rummel

The senior struggled with his control early and often, but he battled his way to 5-plus innings of work in the series-opener. 4 KEY MOMENTS: HOW THE GAME WAS SHAPED

· Trailing by a run, the Rummel bats came alive in the bottom of the first. Lance Johnson opened with a single and Ron Franklin was hit by a pitch to put two on with two outs. Chandler Fields laced a double down the left field line to score a pair and Tyler Cook followed with an RBI single to put the Raiders up 3-1.

· The Raiders up single runs in the second and third innings. In the second Jackson Dennies opened the inning with a double and courtesy runner Bradley Pelle scored on a error to make the score 4-1. In the third inning, Franklin opened the inning with a single, stole second and scored on Cook's RBI double to make it 5-1.

· The Yellow Jackets made things interesting in the seventh against reliever Hayden Elwell. Down to their final out, Henry Lott and Matt Randall hit back-to-back singles, but Elwell struck out Saywer LaCoste swinging to end the game.
